Logan - left disappointed by decision.

Northamptonshire seamer Richard Logan admitted he was "disappointed" after being released by the county following a two-year stint at Wantage Road.

The 28-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular place in the side in what was his second spell with the county.

Logan said: "After 12 years in the professional game I am disappointed that things have not worked out as well as I would have liked.

"However, I'm excited about new challenges that lie ahead in my life either inside or outside of the game."

Northamptonshire head coach David Capel added: "It was a difficult decision to release Richard from his contract and we have done it with the future in mind.

"It is disappointing from the player's point of view that it has not worked out but I sincerely wish him all the best for his future."

The county also confirmed they have released 20-year-old paceman Richard Browning, who was on a summer deal, from his contract.
