Pears Stalwart Ready For Bears

Hick - elbow problem.

Veteran batsman Graeme Hick should have recovered from an elbow injury to be available for Worcestershire's LV County Championship Division Two match at home to title rivals Warwickshire.

The Pears hope Hick will not need an operation on the elbow which has been problematic throughout the season.

Seamers Simon Jones and Kabir Ali are still missing due to their ongoing injuries, however.

Warwickshire go into the clash without Lee Daggett who has been loaned to Leicestershire and James Anyon who injured his ankle in the second XI game against Leicestershire last week.

Ant Botha's hip remains a concern, but he is included in the squad, while Neil Carter could replace either Botha, Rankin or Chris Martin. Chris Woakes and the resurgent Ian Salisbury make up the attack.

Jonathan Trott will hope to continue where he left off in making 181 against Derbyshire last week, while Tony Frost is set to keep his place in the side as a specialist batsman.

Glamorgan have added David Harrison and Tom Maynard to the team for their match against Derbyshire.

Derbyshire could be boosted by the return of seamer Tom Lungley and wicketkeeper Jamie Pipe as they look to sneak into the promotion places.

Lungley has been out with a knee injury but is on course to make his first start since June while Pipe is recovering well from the broken finger he received in the Championship game against Northamptonshire in July and is due to feature.

Derbyshire's draw against Warwickshire leaves them 23 points shy of a promotion place and needing at least two wins from their three remaining games.
