No play possible at Northampton

Kent's hopes of improving their Pro40 Division Two promotion charge were dented slightly as rain washed out their clash with rock-bottom Northamptonshire.

Persistent rain in the south of England dashed any hopes of play, and the umpires cancelled proceedings around 3.30pm (local time) on Sunday.

The one point gained by each side does see the Spitfires close the gap on second place Glamorgan to a single point, however the Dragons are currently in action against Yorkshire.

The Steelbacks remain rooted to the bottom of the table, however the point gained does hand Nicky Boje's men their first of the competition.
