Notts Lose Hussey

Hussey - moving on.

Nottinghamshire have confirmed Australia batsman David Hussey will not play for them this season.

Hussey had been scheduled to feature for the county later this season but has been instructed to rest by Cricket Australia after playing in the Indian Premier League and on his country's tour of the West Indies.

His countryman Adam Voges will therefore remain with Notts, although he will also be on international duty after the County Championship fixture against Durham in August. Notts will therefore sign a replacement overseas player for the final six weeks of the season.

Director of cricket Mick Newell said: "David's situation has changed somewhat in that he is now centrally contracted by Australia so he won't play for us at all this season.

"I have spoken to him personally and he would have liked to have spent some time with us but it isn't going to be possible in the circumstances.

"He's contracted to us for next season as well and we're hopeful that we'll see him at some stage, but Adam has proved to be an excellent acquisition and we're pleased that he'll have the chance to spend more time at Trent Bridge."
