Netherlands Down Kenya

Tikolo - losing captain.

The Netherlands beat Kenya by six wickets in their rain-reduced ODI in Amstelveen on Thursday.

After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, the hosts restricted the African team to 118 or five in their allotted 24 overs, with Pieter Seelaar bagging career-best figures of three for 22.

Captain Steve Tikolo top-scored with 34, while openers Kennedy Otieno and Alex Obanda pitched in with 29 and 20 respectively.

In reply, the Dutch achieved their target with an over to spare. South African-born Eric Szwarczynski top scored with 46, while veteran Bas Zuiderent did his bit with an unbeaten 41.

Kenya now head to Belfast for a three-match series against Ireland, starting on Sunday.
