Watts Stars For Scots

McCallum - support for Watts.

A diligent knock from captain Fraser Watts kept Scotland's heads above water on the first day of their ICC Intercontinental Cup match against Bermuda.

Opener Watts (76 not out) was the only Scot to make a notable score after winning the toss and opting to bat first in Hamilton, with Douglas Lockhart's 22 the next best effort.

He succeeded where his team-mates failed and remained unbeaten to leave his side in the game on 147 for four.

Veteran spinner Dwayne Leverock made the initial breakthrough, having Lockhart caught behind by Jekon Endess, who played a part in three of the four wickets to fall.

The slow left-armer returned to strike for a second time, accepting a return catch from Colin Smith (17) to take Bermuda's fourth scalp.

In between, Qasim Sheikh fell to strike bowler George O'Brien for 13 while number four Richard Berrington (15) was also dismissed after making a start, leaving Neil McCallum at the crease with Watts.
