Chingoka - Not Visiting Europe Anytime Soon.
Peter Chingoka, the chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket has been slapped with EU sanctions that involve visa bans and asset freezes.
Chingoka was one of 37 individuals and 4 businesses that were added to the list of people subject to EU sanctions, bringing the total number to 168.
The EU imposed the sanctions as a result of claims that Chingoka "publicly supported the terror campaign carried out before and during the elections."
It is not the first time that Chingoka has fallen foul of European visa restrictions - the cricket chief was denied entry into the UK last October, and whilst the reasoning as to why is not clear, a government source has told Cricinfo that it was due to his apparent links with Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF.
David Miliband, the British foreign secretary, said that the sanctions were "designed very much to reinforce the drive for the transitional government that reflects the democratic will of the Zimbabwe people as expressed in the election in March."
The latest ban will come as a massive blow to Chingoka, who denies he has any links to Mugabe.
