Gayle - could continue as skipper.
Confusion surrounds Chris Gayle's future as skipper of the West Indies team.
Gayle last week decided to quit as captain after just 15 Test and one-day international matches at the helm.
Reports claimed he was unhappy with the West Indies Cricket Board.
However, the latest news from the Caribbean suggests that the left-hander may yet stay on as skipper. Gayle has confirmed that he is due to meet with the WICB to discuss the way forward.
"We are currently in discussions with a view at arriving at a mutually beneficial agreement," Gayle told the Jamaica Gleaner.
"Until then, I cannot say much. In fact, whether or not I am captain, my focus now is on the upcoming Canada and Pakistan tours, where I hope to perform well and help the team to victory," he added."
The opener also denied claims that all is not well in the Windies camp.
"There's no rift with the senior players. I don't know where you came across that," he told the Jamaica Observer.
