Kiwi Chief Set To Quit

New Zealand - times are achanging.

New Zealand Cricket chairman Sir John Anderson is set to retire after 13 years in the position, with former rugby union chief Chris Moller joining the board.

Anderson, also an ICC board member and chairman of Television New Zealand and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, will end his tenure at Friday's annual general meeting.

In a statement, NZC CEO Justin Vaughan said: "Since 1995 Sir John has paved the way forward for a resurgence in cricket in New Zealand and his governance during that time has revitalised the sport and its finances, and has seen NZC successfully manage its way through some turbulent issues. His leadership will be missed."

Board member Alan Isaac will be acting chairman until a board meeting later in the month, when the permanent replacement is selected.

Moller, who resigned as CEO of the New Zealand Rugby Union in 2007, will have his selection as a board member rubber-stamped at the Wellington AGM.
