Canada kicked off their tri-series campaign with a 25-run win over Bermuda in a match which was dominated by debutants.
Rizwan Cheema, Manoj David and Karun Jethi all starred for the hosts in their first international match as they posted 270 for six and then restricted Bermuda to 235 for eight in their 50 overs.
Cheema's 24-ball 34 and David's patient 48 from 82 deliveries set the tone, before Jethi hammered three sixes in an unbeaten knock of 46 from 36 balls as Canada set their visitors a tough total.
Bermuda got off to a solid start, with a second-wicket partnership of 90 runs between 18-year-old debutant Chris Douglas and Jekon Edness putting them in command.
But when Douglas was bowled by Jethi for 69 and Edness fell to Cheema for 45, the run chase fell apart and the islanders ended up falling short.
