Watson in action on Sunday.
Colin Smith and Navdeep Poonia all but booked Scotland's place in last four of the World Twenty20 qualifiers by steering the Saltires to an eight-wicket victory over Bermuda.
Smith and Warwickshire ace Poonia were both unbeaten, hitting 46 and 38 respectively to lead the Scots home after seamer Dewald Nel reduced the Bermudan's to 99 off their 20 overs.
Steven Outerbridge hit a valiant 37 not out from 40 balls but it was not enough with South Africa-born Nel the pick of the bowlers with three for 12.
Scotland lost Fraser Watts and skipper Ryan Watson early on but that left Smith and Poonia with the easy task of seeing off the runs inside 18 overs to avenge yesterday's defeat to Ireland.
Nel got the Scots off to the perfect start by trapping Chris Foggo leg-before for six in the fourth over before Oliver Pitcher (13) and Glamorgan star David Hemp (20) rallied to take the score to 35.
But the Bermudans' reprieve was short-lived when skipper Watson's smart fielding saw Pitcher run out, and Richard Berrington saw off James Celestine (nought) to reduce them to 39 for three.
Hemp was the next to go as Bermuda continued to stutter, hauling out to Blain at long-off off Watson, but Outerbridge steadied the ship by smashing the Scottish skipper over long-on in the 14th over.
Outerbridge and Irving Romaine (eight) battled but Bermuda lost two quick wickets with the score at 79, the latter cleaned up by Nel and wicketkeeper Jekon Edness dismissed in similar fashion for a duck.
Rodney Trott fell seven balls later for nought - stumped by Smith off Gordon Drummond before Outerbridge and George O'Brien (seven not out) brought Bermuda home at 99 for seven.
Scotland got off to the worst possible start when Watson fell first ball for a duck, lobbing opener O'Brien straight to Romaine at mid-wicket.
O'Brien struck again in his second over by trapping Watts lbw for seven as Scotland edged towards the panic button at eight for two.
But fears of a Scottish collapse were soon allayed as Smith announced his intentions by smashing Dwayne Leverock for four in the sixth over.
Smith and Poonia rallied to take Scotland to 64 for two and within sight of victory before the Warwickshire batsman was dropped on 22 in the 13th over.
Scotland made sure there were no potential slip-ups as Smith smashed the winning runs off Romaine in the 18th over to leave their progress in the hands of Ireland who play Bermuda later on.
